Austin harpist Suzanne Ballam is an experienced freelance harpist and private studio teacher. She embraces music as a beautiful gift of expression and delights in sharing that beauty through the unique voice of the harp.
Suzanne spent her youth in Auburn, Alabama where she studied the harp with such notable teachers as Judy Beattie Ryan, Marjorie Tyre Sikes, and Judy Sullivan. She continued to pursue her professional career in Chicago, Illinois where she studied with the versatile harpist Faye Seeman. While there, she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance at the Wheaton Conservatory of Music and performed regularly throughout the city and suburbs.
As a result of the wide variety of events and concerts that Suzanne has performed, she skillfully incorporates a wide range of musical styles appropriate for any event, large or small. Classical, baroque, romantic, popular, sacred, and folk music comprise her extensive repertoire collection. The gorgeous sound & elegant appearance of her beautifully handcrafted harp ensures the success & distinction of any celebration.
